Site Map	Perform Pulse Oximetry

• Introduce yourself and check the patient's identity
• Discuss procedure with the patient
• Select fingernail
  • Ensure that it is unobliterated by nail varnish
• Apply finger probe & turn on machine
  • Ensure calibration has occurred
• Record oximetry reading of Hb oxygen saturation
• Remove probe and turn off machine
