  • Identify and check integrity of the components of the skeleton in the abdomen and pelvis
• Identification of the major structures and organs
• Recognise the presence of
  • Air or fluid levels in the hollow viscera
  • Air under the diaphragm
  • Calcification of soft tissues
    • e.g. aorta
